The club tried something different today, Thursday 14th March 2024.
The club was closed for casual social play while eight members turned up to work out if a new competition format was viable. This ‘trial’ started in the morning and finished early afternoon.
It was a handicap competition played over 3 rounds of single frame snooker matches.
The day proved to be successful and very enjoyable for those who attended with Geoff Hurst (winner) and Norb Stampfer (runner up) each collecting a small cash prize (from a pooled entry fee of $5 per player shared between, the winner, runner up and player with the highest break).
Thanks to Members for helping out in testing if this competition format was viable. Indications are that with a few small changes, it could work well.
