The Club’s Annual General Meeting was held on Tuesday 30th April in the club room. Retiring President Bob Pearce presented his third and final annual report in which he reflected upon the continuing work by the Committee to update and improve the Club’s tables and facilities. He thanked those responsible for their devoted effort on behalf of the membership. The report by the Club Captain. Mike Naray, highlighted the successful completion of all the various competitions scheduled over the past year. In presenting his financial report Secretary/Treasurer Jeff Pickering noted the Club remains in a strong financial position despite the various items of expenditure made throughout the year.
Jeff Pickering then proposed that Kamp Business Accountants remain as the Club’s Auditor for the coming year. This was accepted unanimously.
Following the reports, the election of the new Committee took place, with all applicants being elected unopposed: President – Rob Ward; Vice-President – Ian Thomas; Secretary/Treasurer/Vice Captain – Jeff Pickering; Club Captain – Mike Naray; Committee – Ted Herbert, Ian Belsham, Jon Wood and John Roberts.
A motion was then proposed to have membership Fees remain unchanged in the 2020 -2021 financial year. This was passed unanimously.
New President, Rob Ward, drew attention to the new club shirts that members can now order at a discounted price of $26 and to the new building signage that has been installed which reflects the Club’s heritage.
Following discussion concerning the current state of the Club’s tables, the President reassured members that the Committee will continue to consider all options for improving the playing condition of the tables and that no decisions would be taken without making members aware of any proposal.
